Dubai - Several UAE airlines have temporarily suspended flights to the Sudanese capital.

A Dubai resident is offering travellers bound for Sudan a place to stay following the temporary suspension of flights to the Sudanese capital.
In a tweet, Mustafa Khalid wrote that his house and his family's house will be welcoming passengers who have been affected by the suspensions. He extended the offer to passengers in Dubai and Sharjah.

Earlier, Operations of Etihad Airways and Emirates flights to and from Khartoum also remain uncertain due to the political unrest in the Sudanese capital.

"Until further notice, customers connecting onto Emirates flights to Khartoum and/or Flydubai flights to Khartoum or Port Sudan will not be accepted for travel at origin," Emirates said in a statement.
On Thursday, Dubai-based carrier flydubai also suspended it flights to Sudan. On its official website, the flydubai said it had cancelled flights FZ 631/FZ 632 and FZ 633/FZ 634 to Khartoum.
Violence erupted in Khartoum on Monday as protesters urged civilian rule in the country following the ouster of Omar Al Bashir and the subsequent military takeover of the government.
