The student’s father informed the police that he last saw his son on February 19 when he was driving a blue Toyota FJ Cruiser. Officials and students of the American University of Dubai, where he studies, said the student had come to the campus around 3.30pm four days before he was reported missing, and also around the same time on February 22 but left quickly.

The police found his 4WD in the parking lot of a popular mall. A security official at the mall said that he saw the student standing behind one of the doors after midnight on February 20. When he asked the youth what he wanted, he said he wanted to get inside the mall. When the security man told the student, who seemed to be drunk, that the mall was closed, the latter took a taxi and left the place.

Another security official at the mall said the student again came to the mall around 12.30am on February 23.

A student friend told the police that the youth left the mall and went to Jumeirah Beach Residence area where he was last seen standing with two men in a parking lot of a café at 4am.

Police teams are still on a hunt for the student.
