Unlimited discounts, exciting bargains, fun filled events, and non-stop entertainment for the next thirty days is most of what the DSF 2009 offers. Even during these trying times with the world economic situation in a state of crisis, the organising office of the DSF have said that 'DSF 2009 will deliver'. With the tourism industry expected to boom this time of the year, Dubai is decked up with flyers, lights and a brilliant assortment of decorations.

Shopping malls would be a beehive of activity, along with the Al Seef Street, the Global Village which are the most popular hot spots during the Dubai Shopping Festival. This year the Mercato Mall has geared up to celebrate the DSF with the theme 'DSF Carnevale'.

Between January 15 and February 15, the visitors can experience the Renaissance-themed Mercato transformed into a traditional Venetian carnival. In the evenings, there will be traditional Italian flag throwers; Venetian parades and the theatrical main stage at the ground floor will host an array of the daily shows, revealing a true Italian street festival atmosphere.

Adding to the events is a spend-2-Win promotion that entitles customers spending AED200 or more to enter into a draw to win a selection of exciting prizes. Mercato and its sister mall, Town Centre Jumeirah, have teamed up to offer an array of rewarding prizes, exclusively for both malls.

Customers at the Deira City Center will be winning shopping vouchers and exclusive film premiere tickets as the mall invites visitors to 'Shop like a Movie Star' during the Dubai Shopping Festival 2009.

As part of their movie-themed DSF promotion, from January 15 to February 15, the shopping mall will be giving away AED100, 000 in shopping vouchers each week in a mall-wide 'spend-and-win' promotion. To enter this draw, all customers need to do is spend AED300 at any one of the more than 370 stores

The Dubai Festival City is being geared up to be the ultimate destination for shopping and entertainment activities in Dubai.

Fuad Al Najjar, Vice President Deira City Centre, said, 'DSF is the perfect time for families to go shopping and take advantage of the great offers throughout the mall. In addition, we will ease the pressure of driving and parking for residents by running the free CityExpress neighbourhood shuttle bus service, which will transport customers from the nearby places to the malls.

The DSF's most sought after raffle draw– the Lexus Mega Raffle organized in cooperation with the Al Futtaim Group, the raffle is a highlight by itself with cars and cash prizes worth millions of dirhams to be given away during the 32 days of festivities from January 15 to February 15.

Valued at an average of AED 500,000, the daily prize consists of two luxury Lexus models – the RX 350 SUV, and the ES 350 luxury sedan. Additionally, the daily lucky winner will take home a cash prize of 100,000, but in various currencies that the winner will choose through another draw.
