Don't let your 30x30 workout gains go to waste by bingeing on junk food right after your exercises. Fitness is a lifestyle and eating healthy is part of it, said Rizwan Raza, an entrepreneur, speaker and father of two boys in Dubai. Since the first time Raza took on the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC), he has never looked back.
"In fact, I have used the 30-day challenges in the past to start waking up at 5am; lose 10kg; start a blog; and start a side business," he said.
And besides getting regular exercise, sticking to his fitness commitment meant giving up junk food, too.
He used to love burgers, for example, but now that his lifestyle has changed, he has cut down on sugar and would opt for home-cooked food anytime.
"Exercising or being active for 30 days is great but it's not going to have any long-term benefits on your health unless it becomes part of your life. You have to make exercise and healthy eating a part of your daily or weekly routine," Raza said.
He now spends his weekends outdoors, taking long walks, playing football, going for a swim.
