Dubai Customs has announced that it will allow the duty-free import of a range of items for people with disabilities, under the terms of the Cabinet decision in implementation of the initiative of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The decision is aimed at easing the burdens that fall on their shoulders, based on the decision of the Cabinet.
Dubai Customs said that it will allow the duty-free importation of eight types of goods (including educational materials, medical instruments, mobility vehicles and ancillary equipment), which are necessary for people with special needs.
Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director-General of Dubai Customs, said that the initiative of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to allow duty-free goods for people with disabilities reflects the extent of Shaikh Mohammed’s keenness to provide the best levels of care for humanity.
