The competing children, below the age of 12, will be judged for two categories — one for their script and the other in stage performance including directing, playing of music, singing (all based on Dubai themes) and presentation of fashion, decoration and accessories, said Amina Al Daboos, Executive Manager of Shaikha Latifa bint Mohammed Award for Childhood Creativity.

"We are really happy that the DSF has come up with this idea of the 'Dubai Creativity at Play' Award which gels well with the ideology of the Shaikha Latifa bint Mohammed Award for Childhood Creativity that is aimed too at honouring the talent of children in various fields. We hope this cooperation will work wonders in recognising the creativity in children."

In 1998, the Dubai Shopping Festival which carried the message of Children of the World Meet in Dubai, the Shaikha Latifa bint Mohammed Award for Childhood Creativity was introduced to recognise the hidden talent in children, she said.

"The coming DSF will witness the launch of the 'Dubai Creativity at Play Award' aiming at further involvement of children and youngsters in the DSF activities," she said.

"No festivity is complete without the involvement of children; and the Dubai Shopping Festival's message of One World, One Family, One Festival makes sure the youngsters too get their space as it provides them with a platform to showcase their talent to an international audience," she noted.
