Abdul Aziz Malik, the CEO of the Dubai Taxi Agency at the RTA, said that with this addition, people will find it easier to get taxis in different locations of the emirate.

At present, the Cars group has got over 800 taxis plying in Dubai.

"The company is set to dispatch drivers to training courses held in conjunction with the RTA in a bid to urge them to adopt the best practices in business," said Malik.

“Problems encountered by cab drivers have to be diagnosed and reviewed so as to sort out solutions that can boost the level of services provided and help keep pace with the continual demand for taxis. We have to put an end to all practices which have a negative impact such as the phenomenon of drivers’ refusal to take passengers to their destination on the pretext of traffic congestions,” added the official.

There are five taxi companies operating in the emirate which includes Dubai Taxi, which is government owned, Cars Taxi, National Taxi, Arabia Taxi and Metro Taxi.
