Colonel Rashed Thani Al Matroushi, Director of the Dubai Civil Defence, said that the inspection of schools laboratories was part of the Dubai Civil Defence plan to ensure that the safety procedures were being observed in the schools.
The inspection teams at Hazardous Department of Civil Defence used scientific methods to detect any violations of the safety rules and suggest remedies and solutions.
Colonel Al Matroushi said that schools were told to have covered electricity connections, safe installation of air-conditioners and proper and risk-free storage of chemicals.
The schools are also required to install alarm system, provide adequate exits and install boards for special instructions.
Al Matroushi recommended that the use of personal safety equipment by studies and laboratory officials, comply by safety measures during experiments.
He said that in the future sudden inspection of all government school laboratories will be carried out at before the annual licence renewal. Al Matroushi praised the Dubai Educational Zone and its schools for their cooperation.
