Mr Sultan noted that the works of the project included completion of works carried out earlier as part of another contract, which was awarded to a local contracting company and was terminated owing to very poor performance by the contractor. The balance of the work was again tendered and the company that quoted the lowest prices was chosen as the new contractor.

He said the project comprises the construction of one kilometre of new internal roads and 800 metres of service road adjacent to the Ras Al Khor Road, laying of nearly 350,000 square meters of balance of roads and other related construction works.
