The eighth edition of the East Mediterranean region's biggest tourism and travel exhibition concludes today after a four-day run. The event attracted travel and tourism industry professionals from across the world.

The DTCM Executive Overseas Promotions, Omar Ahmed Al Qurashi, said: "This is one of the biggest travel and tourism exhibitions in the Mediterranean region. The department is participating in this fair for the second time after making its debut in 2000. The event is attended by some of the world's biggest tour operators, and we have been highly successful in marketing Dubai during this year's participation."

He added: "The number of Turkish hotel guests in Dubai has been increasing. Dubai's participation in this important show is definitely going to give this figure a further push."

The 15 co-participants at the Dubai stand also held meetings with the representatives of tour operators from different countries in order to promote Dubai in the international market, besides the Turkish market.

The co-participants at the 50-square-metre Dubai stand included Al Bustan Residence & Hotel Apartments, Alpha Tours, Danat Dubai Cruises, Desert Adventures Tourism, Dubai Marine Beach Resort & Spa, Golden Sands Hotel Apartments, Hilton Dubai Jumeirah, Lama Desert Tourism & Cargo, Metropolitan Hotels International, Net Group of Companies, Oasis Adventures, Orient Tours, Planet Travel Tours & Cargo, Sofitel City Centre Hotel, and White Sands Tours & Travel.

This year's exhibition attracted 800 exhibitors from 40 countries, up from 450 exhibitors from 25 countries in 2003.
