DTC completes 1,810,000 trips

DUBAI — The Dubai Transport Corporation (DTC) has completed 1,810,000 trips through its fleet, which contains 2,740 vehicles.

DTC also has 92 buses placed at the main bus stations (Deira, Bur Dubai) and in Al Khaleej, Karama, Gold Souq, Satwa, Banyias stations which have transported 553,465 to other emirates and cities including Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, Al Dhaid, Masafi, Fujairah, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

Amar bin Tamim, Head of Administration, Marketing and Public Relations at the corporation, said that the mass transportation service from Sharjah and Ajman to Dubai is witnessing a noticeable increase where the number of passengers in July was 158,692 passengers.

“This service, which is organised in coordination with Sharjah Transport and Ajman Municipality, contributes in easing the traffic between the emirates as well as prevents accidents, pollution, and facilitating transports for low income people,” he added.

He also said that the fleet working at Dubai International Airport has completed 66,000 trips which transported 198,000 passengers, mentioning that in coordination with the Civil Aviation Department, Dubai Transport airport office provides the necessary numbers of vehicles to ease the flow of passengers.

He also said that the corporation is keen to know what’s new in the transportation industry to ensure a smooth transport for all the visitors and residents and to cover the strong demand for DTC taxis.
