The agreement, established by decree No. 21 of 2003, will help consolidate ties between the two corporations as well as boost productivity and help reduce the operating cost for passengers shuttling between Sharjah and Dubai.

The Director General of Dubai Transport Corporation, Mohammed Obaid Al Mulla, and Director General of the Sharjah Transport Corporation, Abdullah Al Zari, signed the agreement at the premises of the Al Ghusais bus station on Wednesday. Dubai Transport's bus service will include daily trips from Sharjah to Dubai according to a fixed schedule.

The logo of the Sharjah Transport Corporation will be put outside the Dubai Transport buses alongside the logo of the Sharjah Transport Corporation.

At a nominal charge of Dh 5 passengers from Sharjah will now be able to travel to Dubai. The agreement comes after Dubai Transport started its bus service from Dubai to Sharjah earlier. The buses will operate from City Centre in Sharjah and terminate at the Bani Yas Square next to Al Khaleej Hotel in Deira and Bur Dubai.

The second bus station will be at Al Rolla Square and the buses will start from there and reach the Deira stations at Bani Yas Square next to the Al Khaleej Hotel and Bur Dubai.

Each station will have a fleet of 8-10 buses having a capacity of 30 passengers. The buses will operate in shifts from 6 am until midnight with one bus arriving at each stop in every 15 minutes. Dubai Transport will carry out studies and surveys after three months to ascertain customer satisfaction.
