DSF Moves Towards an Exciting Close

DUBAI — As Dubai Shopping Festival draws to a close in two days, children and youngsters are making the most of performances by their favourite cartoon characters at Deira City Centre. Apart from playing interactive games with the cartoons they adore the most, they even get to pose for photographs with them — all thanks to Children’s Creative Centre here featuring Disney’s most popular creations.

The activities included solving puzzles, colouring, face painting, story telling and even donning the costumes themselves.

Serbian dancers charmed shoppers and visitors to the Arabian Centre with their show of traditional dances. The mall, which is a key sponsor of this year’s DSF, has a mall-wide discount of up to 70 per cent across all international retail brand offerings.

Tim Jones, COO, Arabian Centre, said, “We are delighted to receive such a fabulous response all through the Dubai Shopping Festival.” Other exciting activities have also been keeping Arabian Center abuzz this DSF. Cultural dances from all over the globe including Turkey, India, Serbia and Greece have been performed. The mall has also witnessed a line-up of carnival drummers, comic dance performances, DSF 2010’s Mascot, Mr. Wind and Puppet Shows. There has also been an enjoyable workshop for children called ‘Souris Mini Toy Factory’ which allows kids to make their own toys from scratch.

At Al Ghurair City, lucky winners of a daily raffle draw continue to win Emirates Airline tickets offered through the mall’s promotion during DSF 2010. The winners get the opportunity to fly two of their loved ones to Dubai to enjoy the Shopping Festival for 32 days.

A first-time winner, Rowena Guerzon from the Philippines, who has been in Dubai for 13 years, said, “I’m planning to bring my dad and mom here as it has been my time dream for a long time. My parents mean the world to me and I thank Al Ghurair City for making my dreams come true.”

Majd Coussa from Syria, who also won, said that she was very surprised when she won two tickets by simply shopping at Al Ghurair City. “I feel I am on top of the world, thanks to Al Ghurair City.”
