DSF gets ready to hit the road

DUBAI — The DSF Office on Wednesday convened a briefing session for the participants of the Gulf-wide roadshows kicking off in Jeddah on December 13 and concluding in Muscat on December 23.

Ibrahim Saleh, Chief Operating Officer of DSF, addressed the gathering comprising delegates from various top hotels, travel trade and rent-a-car companies during the meeting held at the Dubai Department of Economic Development.

Mr Saleh stressed the importance of the roadshows which he said provide not only the DSF delegation but the trade as well an opportunity to interact with the tour operators from the AGCC countries during the workshops and the media at the Press conferences held in the region.

Mr Saleh explained the gathering about the schedule and answered relevant queries from the delegates about the nitty-gritty of the workshops and discussed the various promotions being offered by the participants to the discerning visitors from AGCC countries.

Now it’s an established fact that the DSF today is a strong medium in revitalising trade and tourism in the country. And this much happening 10th year celebration is bound to break the Festival's earlier records of spending and tourist numbers by providing a golden opportunity for the travel trade to promote their unique services and facilities to the regional guests who are expected to arrive in much larger numbers.

Saleh also informed that a large number of delegates from the hospitality and tourism industries and rent-a-car companies from Dubai and tour operators from the GCC countries are expected to rub shoulders at the workshop and discuss business strategies vis-à-vis attractive air fares, hotel rooms and car rental packages on offer for regional families by the Emarati businesses during the forthcoming Dubai Shopping Festival starting on January 12.

The participating hotels and companies at the workshop includes the Grand Hyatt, Sheraton Dubai Creek & Tower, Coral Deira, The Fairmont Dubai, Taj Palace Hotel, Sofitel City Center Hotel, Wing Tours Gulf, Dubai International Hotel Apartment, Shangri-La Hotel, Destinations of the World, White Sands Tours & Travel, Hyatt Regency, The Ritz-Carlton Dubai, Alpha Tours, Net-Tours, Thrifty Car Rental, Dollar Rent-a-Car Golden Sands Hotel Apartment, Crowne Plaza, Metropolitan Hotels International, Jebel Ali International, Hilton Dubai Jumeirah, Hilton Dubai Creek, Accor Hotels World Trade Center, Jumeirah International and One & Only Royal Mirage.
