Driver dies in truck collision on Al Dhaid road

SHARJAH — A 26-year-old Pakistani driver, Rahmanullah Shah, died on the spot after a truck hit his truck on the Al Dhaid road in Sharjah yesterday morning.

Captain Saleh bin Hwaiden, deputy officer at the Al Dhaid police station, told Khaleej Times that the accident took place around 6am on the road section between Al Seeji and Kadar area in Al Dhaid.

A 45-year-old Indian driver, H. Singh, who was speeding, lost control over his truck which deviated to the right and hit the truck driven by Ramanullah Shah who died on the spot.

The Anjad and rescue operation teams rushed to the scene and shifted the body to the Al Dhaid hospital. The heavy trucks, which caused a traffic jam, were removed from the road immediately.
