The 24-year-old Bangladeshi driver told the Court of First Instance on Wednesday that he killed the Chinese woman in self-defence.
According to the court records, he met the woman in Naif area on August 16. She offered to have sex with him for Dh25 and he went with her to her apartment.
There, they had a disagreement over money and she pushed him. He took a cleaver and hit her head with that many times till she died.
The body was found two days later after residents of the building complained of bad smell coming from the apartment on the first floor.
“I went to the apartment and found the door not firmly closed. I rang the bell and called if anyone was there but none would answer,” an Indian watchman told the prosecutors.
When he pushed open the door, he saw bloodstains at the entrance. “The woman’s feet also had bloodstains,” he added.
An Emirati police officer who visited the crime scene told the prosecutors that blood was everywhere in the flat.
“The body belonged to a woman in her thirties and she was lying on her back on a bed.
“She had serious wounds on her head and other parts of her body. It looked like she was killed two days before,” the officer said.
During investigation, the police track down an Asian man who had the woman’s mobile phone with him.
He told the police that his friend, the defendant, gave him the phone. On the same day, the latter was arrested.
He admitted to killing the woman with a cleaver.
