Donations start pouring in

DUBAI — DAMAC Properties, the region’s largest private sector property developer, yesterday announced the donation of 10 apartments for the ‘Dubai Cares’ initiative that was unveiled in Dubai by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The properties donated by DAMAC will be further auctioned to raise funds for the education initiative that is aimed at educating one million children around the world. “We have grown at a tremendous pace and we have set the path for others to follow in the property marketplace and we aim to replicate the same when it comes to corporate social responsibility. We are proud to be a part of this initiative,” said Hussain Sajwani, chairman, DAMAC Holding.

Meanwhile, Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Department and Chairman of Emirates, announced his donation of Dh10 million to the charity drive. Also, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman, DP World, announced to contribute an annual amount of Dh 20 million in support of the campaign.

Major General Musabeh Rashid Musabeh Al Fattan, director of Diwan of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and his family also announced a donation of Dh10 million per year to ‘Dubai Cares.’
