Leading Indian carrier IndiGo launched its international flight from Bengaluru to Dubai on December 15 last year. The airline, the largest and fastest-growing low-cost carrier in India, now flies daily non-stop flights between Bengaluru and Dubai.

The airline also launched two new daily non-stop flights between Mumbai and Bengaluru in the same month, taking the total number of daily flights between the two cities to 11.

The airline added Kozhikode in Kerala as its 32nd domestic and 37th overall destination in its network. From January 1 this year, it introduced daily non-stop flights between Kozhikode and Dubai, and between Kozhikode and Mumbai, and daily flights between Kozhikode and Delhi via Mumbai. It also introduced its 15th daily non-stop flight between Delhi and Mumbai.

According to Aditya Ghosh, President, IndiGo, 2014 has been a landmark year for the airline. It won the Airbus Excellence Award, a first for an Indian airline. It also placed a firm order for 250 A-320 aircraft and inducted its 100th aircraft. “These new flights between Bengaluru, Dubai and Mumbai are testimony of our commitment towards connectivity across the country, bringing more people closer to their dreams and new opportunities,” he said.

IndiGo is India’s largest airline with a market share of 31.9 per cent as of October 2014, as well as the country’s largest low-fare carrier. The airline offers fares that are always low, flights that are on time, and a courteous, hassle-free travel experience.

Its on-time performance is one of the best in India. IndiGo’s Technical Dispatch Reliability is 99.91 per cent making it the airline with the least number of cancellations in India.

With its fleet of 86 new Airbus A320 aircraft, the airline offers 550 daily flights connecting 37 destinations including five international sites — Dubai, Muscat, Bangkok, Singapore and Kathmandu. The airline has flown over 80 million passengers till date.

Led by its President Aditya Ghosh, the airline has been promoted by InterGlobe Enterprises and Rakesh Gangwal, an aviation industry veteran and entrepreneur.
