The court panel, presided by Judge Fahmi Mounir Fahmi, also heard that the 27-year-old Indian had earlier in the day harassed the woman outside her apartment in Rashidiya and had asked for her mobile number.

The incident allegedly happened on June 20.

The domestic worker faced charges of molestation, trespassing into others’ property and harassing a woman.

The 30-year-old Egyptian housewife told the prosecutor that the defendant came to her as she was about to step into her car in the morning.

In poor English, he told her that he was a maintenance worker, the woman said in her statement.

She told him that she did not need such a worker and added that she would call him whenever she needed his service.

Later in the day, as she was in her bedroom about to take a nap, she was surprised to see the man peeking at her through the door.

He entered the room but left quickly when she screamed.

He admitted to the charges during interrogations by the police and the public prosecution.
