ABU DHABI - State Audit has revealed violation of regulations in the appointment of physicians in government hospitals, as some doctors are found to have been appointed in specialisations other than theirs.
The Audit report noted that these violations have taken place in the appointment of UAE national doctors. Such appointments were contrary to the cabinet decree. The report noted that, for instance, doctors were appointed in administrative positions, which were not suitable fields for them for professional discharge of their duties.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health re-examined the licensing system which was given to the cadres of nursing and some technical specialisations, belonging to the medical sector, as a result of the violation of the regulations in the sector.
It was also reported that some medical centers have permitted to bring in some medical cadres and then they didn't employ them and instead allowed them to work in other places.
Dubai has the reputation of be the provider of best health-care in the region, with both the government and private sector doing an impressive job.
