The public seminar will be addressed by Brigadier Saeed Mattar bin Bleilah, Director, DNRD.

Apart from throwing light on services such as online visas and residency permits, the event will present case studies of DNRD’s key initiatives such as eForms, ePay and eGate.

“As a frontrunner among government departments in delivering customer-centric services, DNRD has been offering online services since 1999. We have come a long way since then, and most of our services are available electronically today. We would like the public to know about our eServices and understand them, so that they could save time and energy by getting their transactions done online,” said Brig. Mattar bin Bleilah. “This seminar will summarise all our electronic offerings and guide the public on how to use our eServices,” he added.

One of the case studies will focus on DNRD’s hi-tech innovation through a dedicated site http://www.eform.ae that facilitates fast-track online visa renewal with fully secure online payment options. The whole process can be completed in five to 10 minutes at any time of day or night. Payment can be made using the e-Dirham, credit card or direct debit to the applicant’s bank account.

Brigadier Mattar bin Bleilah will also focus on eGate, the smart card-operated system that permits electronic access to Dubai International Airport for pre-registered travellers, without the need for physical stamping of the passport. The ePay system which allows online users to make payment using credit cards or eDirham will also be highlighted.
