DM to announce 5 new projects in GITEX 2010

DUBAI—Dubai Municipality (DM) is participating in GITEX 2010, which will be held at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 17 to 20 October. The DM will present new technologies added to its website and the e-services provided to the customers by the various departments and sections of the Municipality.

Director of Information Technology Department at Dubai Municipality Abdul Hakim Malik, said that the DM’s participation in the exhibition will highlight the progress reached by e-government in Dubai, as the exhibition is an opportunity to learn about the latest in information technology.

He pointed out that the department will announce five new projects and systems and it will also present the projects implemented and the e-services offered to companies and individuals.

Malik stated that during the exhibition the DM IT Department will be organising a competition for training and testing on the International Certificate of Computer and Internet, IC3.

He said that the participation of DM in GITEX 2010 will enhance the prestige of the civic body at the local, regional and global levels as it will exchange experiences with participants in this global event, which includes prominent companies and countries, and is expected to attract a large number of visitors.

Malik added that by participating in the exhibition, the DM aimed to spread the culture of e-transformation and to introduce Municipality services available on its portal.

He pointed out that Dubai Municipality has been offering new innovative e-services in each year of the exhibition.
