DM sets up 3 parks in Al Barsha-2

Dubai Municipality has completed the work of three parks projects in Al Barsha-2 area at a cost of Dhs23 million. The opening date of the park will be announced soon.

The move is part of its goal to increase the green areas in the Emirate of Dubai and in implementation of the plan towards achieving its strategic objectives in the establishment of public parks in accordance with the best practices and standards as per the population growth.

Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality said the completion of these projects is part of the challenges the Municipality has taken up on its shoulders keeping it part of the constant march of the urban boom witnessed by the emirate as a result of the development of the city, which is continuously in competition with the global cities in its urban growth.

Lootah said that the developmental boom and comprehensive modernization of the emirate will not be achieved unless the ecological balance sought by the General Projects Department at Dubai Municipality is met through its insistence for tireless work for the implementation and delivery of public parks, residential neighbourhood parks and public squares aimed at greening and beautifying the city and achieving ecological balance.

Lootah said that recently works on three residential neighbourhoods parks were completed Al Barsha-2 area. ‘While designing these parks we have taken into account all the requirements and design criteria for this type of parks, in particular requirements of people with special needs and also to be a natural outlet for the residents of these areas,’ he said.
