DUBAI — The eighth local competition of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award (Dihqa) begins at the Dubai Women’s Association at 5pm today.

Ibrahim Mohammad Bu Melha, Consultant to the Ruler of Dubai and the Chairman of the Dihqa Organising Committee, will inaugurate the contest.
Bu Melha expressed gratitude for His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for his support for the activities of Dihqa. He also lauded the support of Shaikha Hind bint Maktoum Al Maktoum, wife of the Ruler of Dubai, for sponsoring the female part of the local contest since its launch.
