DIC to field teams in Samsung quiz competition

DUBAI - Dubai Internet City (DIC) authorities yesterday pledged their support to the Samsung C:\Brain Challenge 2003, and will be fielding teams to compete in the first IT quiz challenge in the Gulf, according to a Press release.

To attract teams to participate in this knowledge property, Dubaiquiz.com has launched an innovative direct mail campaign targeted at IT professionals at the Dubai Internet City. Those having their coffee and breakfast in the food court of the DIC were surprised to find brown paper bags with an apple inside with a note inviting them to participate in the Samsung C:\Brain Challenge 2003. Dr Sulaiman received the first bag in his office.

The first ever Samsung C:\Brain Challenge 2003 will be hosted by Siddhartha Basu, host of BBC's Mastermind Challenge. The Samsung C:\Brain Challenge is primarily targeted at IT professionals and is open for participation to all IT and non-IT companies in the UAE.

The Samsung C:\Brain Challenge 2003 takes place at the Holiday Inn, Bur Dubai, on the 5th of June, and will consist of two rounds. There will be two participants in each team and the entry fee is $100 per team. The last date for receiving entries is the 30th of May.

Total prizes worth Dh150,000 are on offer for the winning teams. It includes digital products from Samsung Electronics, cruises from Star Cruise, Tissot watches, IT education courses from NIIT, wireless kits from SMC, writing instruments from Cross, trophies courtesy Crystal Arc, PDA's and mobile phones. In addition to this, special prizes will be given away to the audience at the challenge.
