Dhahi praises police officials

DUBAI — Lt-General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police lauded the police force who have done commendable work in combating crime during a Press conference in Dubai, on Sunday.

He said the police officers built good relations with senior officials in various countries in solving crime related to the UAE. He thanked the officers who succeeded in solving a number of big cases especially the one involving the murder of Suzan Tamim Al Mabhoh in Dubai.

The police chief said that for two months, Dubai Police were on a relentless search for the African gang who stole from eight villas. The police later recovered the jewels worth around Dh13 million.

Brigadier Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Director, General Department of Criminal Investigation, said CID officers use the latest techniques adding that nearly 400 police patrols and cavalry units have assisted in preserving security in Dubai.

He said that each police patrol covers five kilometres in Dubai and a unit work for six months in a specific area.

Colonel Dr Mohammed Nassir, Deputy Director for Patrols, said the police patrols of Bur Dubai had played an important role in identifying criminals.— amira@khaleejtimes.com
