Dh68.38 million road project for Dubai

DUBAI - Shaikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and Industry and Chairman of the Dubai Municipality, has approved a Dh68.38 million project to improve various roads in Dubai.

Qasim Sultan, Director-General of the municipality, said that the project had been awarded to a local contracting. It will be completed in two years and has a two-week mobilisation period.

The project, Mr Sultan said, involved construction, completion and maintenance of minor roads in several areas of Dubai to ease traffic flow. The project also includes construction of a road that will especially serve the Higher Legal and Judicial Institute, which is being constructed in Al Garhoud area. Mr Sultan said that work on this road would start in a few days.

A parking lot for the Al Manara Secondary School and Al Rafaa Clinic in Bur Dubai, construction of roads and pavements in Abu Hail, roads in Al Qusais, roads and pavements in Al Awir Residential Areas and a number of other works in various locations are also part of the project, he said.
