A former Dubai resident, the industry veteran wants to make a difference and continue the drive for growth with quality at the iconic venue
Dr Aisha Sultan, Head of Dental Services at Dubai Medical District, Assistant Director of Dental Services at the UAE Ministry of Health, and Head of the Dental Society at the Emirates Medical Association, delivered the opening speech.
"Our scientific committee at the dental society is keen to present international speakers in different fields of dentistry to provide our practitioners with the latest skills and knowledge. Attending such courses provides medical practitioners with continuous education credits, these days a requirement for the renewal of licence to practice medicine in different associations," Dr Aisha said.
Dr Aisha then introduced the eminent speaker who delivered the course, Dr Ratnadeep Patil, who specialised in implantology and esthetic dentistry from New York University and is currently a faculty member at NYU. Dr Patil is also International Director for India and South East Asia of the New York University College of Dentistry
Dr Patil recently authored a clinical textbook on esthetic dentistry titled Esthetic Dentistry: An Artist's Science, which has been nominated as the best esthetic dentistry clinical textbook by the British Dental Association in November 2003.
He has also maintained a successful private practice in Mumbai for the last 15 years and has been actively involved in conducting such education programmes for more than eight years.
