Mohammad Haji Al Khoury, director-general of the KBZF, said the shipment weighing about 26 tonnes was an extension of the relief operations currently in progress for Syrian refugees in a number of regions and cities in Lebanon.

“The foundation has been following up the humanitarian situation since the beginning of worsening conditions caused by the current events in Syria and responded immediately according to the programme prepared for this purpose, targeting families,” he remarked.

The dates will be distributed to the Syrian refugees in coordination with the USE Embassy in Lebanon and the Union of Local Municipalities, which have census records of the total number of displaced people.

He vowed that the foundation would continue its humanitarian efforts to improve the lives of Syrian refugees. He also praised the role of the UAE Embassy in Lebanon for its efforts to facilitate the work of the foundation.
