The journey will take four months and they are expected to arrive in Dubai in October. The couple wishes to raise awareness on children with autism.

In a letter sent to the DAC, the couple has stated: "We want to be able to enjoy the trip, but we would also like to contribute towards a good cause at the same time. After careful consideration, we decided that we want to support a local children's charity, the Dubai Autism Centre, which relies almost solely on donations and grants."

Mohammed Al Emadi, Director General and Board Member of DAC, has praised the couple's initiative saying: "I would like to express my deep gratitude to Amanda and Odwin, whose initiative will undoubtedly contribute to providing moral and material support for our centre."
