DUBAI — The President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman of the Emirates Group, Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, yesterday honoured Dubai Customs officials and inspectors for foiling an attempt to smuggle 47kg of heroin into the country recently.

The Customs officers were presented certificates of appreciation in the presence of Dubai Customs Director-General Ahmed Butti Ahmed was present on the occasion.

Praising the Customs inspectors’ efforts, Shaikh Ahmed said: “Your remarkable efforts are most appreciated. It is the responsibility you bear in order to serve your country and its citizens.” On his part, Ahmed Butti Ahmed expressed gratitude to Shaikh Ahmed for the kind gesture.
