Customs officers learn about Ozone-depleting materials

DUBAI — The Dubai Customs organised a training seminar for UAE Customs Authorities on monitoring and controlling Ozone-depleting substances. The seminar was conducted in cooperation with the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) and the Environment Federal Authority (EFA).

The training aimed at educating customs inspectors on the dangers of some hazardous Ozone-depleting gases. It, likewise, shed light on international laws that restrict the trading of Ozone-exhausting gases, further requiring countries to limit the quantities of those gases and abide by specific chemical characteristics. The UAE has been showing continuous commitment towards the Montreal Protocol on minimising the levels of ozone-depleting gases.
