Creating customised spaces

Your home is one of your most intimate spaces as that's where you unwind, entertain, find sanctuary and connect with loved ones. Tricon Interiors LLC is one such company that gives each client the care and attention they deserve and creates spaces that are both visually appealing and practical.
Poonam Wagh, Owner and Interior Designer at Tricon Interiors, says, "I started the company in 2013 but have been in the business for the last 15 years with my other company in Sharjah. I started the company in Dubai in order to cater to my clients here. My vision is to make it an architectural firm that provides all the interior design services under one roof."
The company is known for designing unique spaces for both residential as well as corporate environments.
"We are different from other interior design companies because I put myself in the home of the people, take individual requirements and give it special dedication," says Wagh.
The interior designers at Tricon Interiors are called lifestylists and they cater to the different needs of every individual as interests of different people in the household may vary.
She says, "Every one has distinct choices and each individual is different. I tell my clients that we are going to do this together and I meet the entire family and the different generations to get all their views and create a scheme that will be loved by all, so it's a win-win situation.
"People shouldn't feel like they are in an alien environment in their own home or feel like they need to compromise their needs. The same goes for commercial areas as well. Whether its issues with storage, or access to certain areas, we can easily rectify it through refurbishment."
When asked about what's trending in the city, Wagh says that she never says no to any project, be it a Moroccan design, or a modernist, clean and sleek look.
"I tell my clients that you give me your choices and I will let you know if it will work. When I am finished with a room, I can guarantee that it will look grand and elegant and everything will be balanced," she adds.
According to Wagh, there are so many apartments/villas that are often planned wrong. "Dubai is a melting pot of different cultures that have different needs. Sometimes the flats here have designs that are just repetitions. Every individual comes from a different background and so has different needs.
"When I begin a project, my clients become my family as projects can take up to six months. Every project is a wonderful experience. Our Unique Selling Point (USP) is that we provide customised designs. All our kitchen and wardrobe desings are made after meticulous planning."
The company's furniture is also designed to last for at least six years. If people are moving houses, it can be designed in a way that it is easily reassembled in another flat.
"Our furniture is a long-term investment. Over the years, I have gotten amazing response from clients and this must mean that I have done something right," she concludes.
