Court throws man in jail for molesting a 14-year-old boy

SHARJAH - The Shariah Court of Cassation has upheld verdicts by the Criminal Court and the Court of Appeal against Bahradar, an expatriate, sentencing him to 10 years in jail and a fine of Dh1000 to be followed by deportation, for molesting a 14-year old boy.

The public prosecution accused Bahradar of forcing the boy for homosexual acts and assault. The boy had also sustained burn injuries.

The prosecution demanded punishment for the accused according to Article 339/1 and 354 of the Federal Penal Code. Consequently, the Criminal Court of Sharjah sentenced the accused to 10 years in jail and Dh1000 fine followed by deportation.

The defendant appealed against the verdict before the Court of Appeal, Sharjah, which upheld the verdict. The defendant, then, appealed before the Supreme Federal Court, which finally rejected the plea.
