Jihad, his wife Sahar, 35, and 10-year-old son Husni died on the spot. The other children, twins Alla and Ayah, 5, son Abdullah 12, and sister Nour, 13 sustained injuries. A police official told Khaleej Times that the injured were admitted to Al Dhaid Hospital.
Meanwhile, in another accident at around the same time on Al Nahda intersection, an Indian national was killed and three others received serious injuries. The police said the accident occurred when the driver of a Corolla car jumped the red light at Al Nahda intersection and crashed head-on into another car. The injured included UAE national Ahmed, 21, and his companions Fatima, 22 and Mohammed, 33.
The police said they were all rushed to Al Qasimi Hospital where they are receiving treatment.
