The Anti-Narcotics Department, which was keeping a close watch on the movement of the gang, tailed the ship transporting huge quantities of heroin from an Asian country along with other commodities.

The police monitored the ship's movement from one country to another in collaboration with British Police operating in Africa. The ship anchored at Mombassa port in the East African state of Kenya, where the heroin was delivered to peddlers.

The ship's captain and crew and the narcotics dealers operating in Mombassa were apprehended and handed over to the authorities concerned. Abu Dhabi Police played a significant role in the capture of the gang.
