Cooking contest winners awarded

DUBAI — Min Bladi Al Emarat, a folkloric festivity as a part of DSS, drew a huge crowd at the Egypt Court in Ibn Battuta for the ‘Best Local Dish’ competition.

A total of 17 participants displayed their culinary expertise in cooking two favourite local dishes — the harees and the balaleet. Cash prizes of Dh5, 000, Dh3, 000, and Dh2, 000 were awarded to the winner, runner-up and second runner-up, respectively.

Min Bladi Al Emarat which began on Thursday, will run until July 26. Competitions include Best Perfume & Eyeliner Contest, Best Poem Contest, Best Esama & Youla Competition , Emarati Coffee Contest today, Best Hand-Made Product Contest tomorrow, Best Dairy Product Competition on July 25, and the Best Popular Dress Competition on July 26.
