Dubai - A ‘convoy of messengers’ will distribute gifts and Ramadan-related educational materials throughout the emirate to the residents as part of the 14th Dubai Ramadan Forum, which runs from June 24 to July 4.
The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has launched the “Convoy of Goodness” campaign, designed to familiarise people with the virtues of Ramadan and activities taking place during the Ramadan Forum.
The convoy assisted by Dubai Police comprise volunteers from 14 countries who will travel across the emirate handing over educational materials, including USB devices containing recitations of the Holy Quran, guidebooks on Islamic jurisprudence regarding fasting and benefits of Ramadan, as well as the agenda of the forum.
“The ‘Convoy of Goodness’ has now become one of the most prominent events associated with the forum, as it contributes to conveying the message of education and enlightenment and spreading awareness among people about benefits of the holy month of Ramadan,” said Hamad Mohammed bin Mejren, senior vice-president of the Dubai Convention and Events Bureau at the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, and general supervisor of the Dubai Ramadan Forum.
The convoy will operate in two shifts, one from 9am until 1:30pm, and the second from 9pm until 1am.
