UN fact-finding mission has uncovered violations by both sides, 'which may amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity'.
A private university here received many complaints from individuals claiming that they had paid large amounts of money to one of its officials who promised to get them jobs.
However, top officials at the organisation said that the suspect had nothing to do with the organisation, which is located in the RAK old city.
“He is not working with us,” the official added. He also confirmed that the suspect is not even sponsored by the organisation.
Job-seekers, of different Asian nationalities, used to flood the university’s premises on an almost daily basis to ‘claim’ their jobs.
Some of them said they paid around Dh1,000 to the suspect. The official added that the organisation has initiated legal action against the suspect.
“Such activities are completely illegal and we will take tough measures against such frauds, so that they are not repeated again,” he added.
