The conference will be held from November 19 to 21 at Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Hall on the ECSSR's premises.

'China, India and United States: Competition for energy resources' will be the theme for the conference, which is into its 12th edition.

The topics will focus on the future demand for energy in the US, one of world's highest consumers, and the growing economies of India and China, whose energy demands are expected to surge substantially.

The strategic and security implications for the world in general and the Arabian Gulf region in particular will come under the ambit of deliberations.

In the case of China and India, an evaluation of the ratio of energy demand and economic growth will be made.

In the context of the US, discussions will focus on the administration's long-term strategic energy policy.

The purpose of these analyses will be to unveil, both at political and economic levels, the wide-ranging impact of competition for energy supplies.

Also on the agenda are talks on the role of the GCC as an energy producer in this scenario.

The Gulf countries have an energy relationship with both the US and Asian countries, but the balance of demand and supply is very likely to change.

External potential competitors will also be discussed at the conclave.

With China and India already cooperating in an attempt to secure future energy supplies, representatives from all three countries at the conference will also discuss, from their own national perspectives, how the growing importance of energy could change relationships between them.
