Computers virus blocked

ABU DHABI - Computers in the UAE are secure from the devastation of 'MyDoom' virus that has disrupted networks worldwide as Emirates Internet and Multimedia has taken foolproof measures to block all such viruses that can damage computer systems in a country.

However, sources at EIM noted that if Internet users receive an email, which has in its subject line the words ' test' or ' status', then it could be the MyDoom or its deadly counterpart, the Novarg virus that has surfaced recently.

A mass-mailing worm that arrives in the computer as an attachment with an .exe, .scr, .zip or .pif extension has already created shock waves among Internet users in the West. The new virus, dubbed MyDoom or Novarg, is a mass-mailing worm.
