The municipality had filed a lawsuit against the company demanding immediate evacuation of the land which was meant for a sanctuary.

The municipality said that the land was leased for Dh 52,000 per annum to the company, which refused to vacate after its tenancy contract expired in March 2005. The municipality said the land could be used as a nature reserve only and not for any other purpose such as constructing residential buildings.
