All the vegetable sections at Spinneys outlets in Dubai yesterday displayed a notice to customers apologising for the inconvenience.

A branch manager at one of the outlets told Khaleej Times that the strike had started yesterday and most probably it would be over in a couple of days.

"Things like this happen in the countries of the subcontinent, but usually they are over in a few days," he said.

He said that Spinneys had a big demand for Sri Lankan vegetables.
