Cold snap will end by Friday

DUBAI — An unusually cold week for the UAE saw the mercury drop to six degrees Celsius in Sharjah on Tuesday night but forecasters predict the cold snap to end by Friday.

Dubai meteorological office duty forecaster Dr SK Gupta said six degrees in Sharjah and 10 degrees over Monday night were about five degrees colder than the average for this time of the year.

However, the temperatures were not unheard of and were the result of a cold northeasterly wind blowing from Iran.
