Click-to-win winners awarded

DUBAI — The winners of the 19th Cosmos-Konica Minolta Click-to-Win photographic competition co-sponsored by Khaleej Times were awarded prizes at a formal ceremony conducted at India Club yesterday.

Students, amateurs and photojournalists won accolades for their work at the presentation ceremony where a total of 21 prizes were given away in the three categories.

This year the competition attracted 700 entries with themes exclusively on the UAE. The contest was held in three categories: student photographer of the year, photographer of the year and photojournalist of the year.

When Radhika Janardhanan, A.N. Syama and P.S. Pranav shared first three places for the student photographer of the year award, Andri Khomchenko, Easa Saeed Altenaiji and Duane Fonseca, bagged the first three awards in the general category.

Muhammed Nasser from Al Khaleej Group was adjudged the best photojournalist of the year. Devadasan of Gulf News won the 1st runner up and Valeriano Handumon From ITP group won the 2nd runner up.

The judges were Murli Patni, Matiur Rahman and T.R. Narayana Swami. Dr. Ram Buxani, Executive Vice Chairman, Cosmos ITL Group said that this long running event had proved a unique opportunity to nurture the talents of photo enthusiasts in this part of the world.
