Six tonnes of unfit foodstuffs, unhealthy environment inside a factory and labourers without health cards — this is exactly what the health department inspectors of the Ajman Municipality came across during one of their campaigns. If these substandard foodstuffs had found their way into the market, the health of people would have been surely endangered.

We appreciate the efforts of Ajman municipality inspectors who seized such huge a quantity of unfit foodstuff but we think it is also necessary to review the laws concerning inspection of the foodstuffs.

Therefore, the strictest of punishments will be the best deterrence as the violators and cheaters should think many times before repeating such offences.
