The event has received the patronage of General Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Minister of Defence who invited the Foundation to host this year's forum in Dubai, the media hub of the region, noted Al Faisal.

The event will cover the main issues concerning the Arabic media and its role in catalysing and supporting the development process in the region and the integration in the world order, added Al Faisal.

"The forum is a platform to discuss some of the crucial issues, challenges and opportunities in the field of media by top Arab and foreign media experts. The forum will also promote and encourage the role of media in the Arab world as a medium of shaping the public opinion with regard to the various issues faced by the region," noted Prince Bandar bin Khalid bin Faisal, member of the Board of Trustees and the Head of Organising Committee.

He said, "This year the forum will be organised in collaboration with the Dubai Press Club as the Press Club has prior experience in successfully holding media forums such as the eminent Arab Media Forum."

He added, "We are pleased to hold our media forum in Dubai, as it is considered the regional and international media hub. This year would be the most important and most distinguished year for the forum and we expect participation of a large numbers of attendees including leading international media speakers who will come together to discuss some of the vital issues pertaining to the media field."

Mona Al Marri, Executive Manager of Dubai Press Club said, "There is an immense responsibility on the media in the Arab world in current time which is much greater than ever before and requires concerted effort to improve its performance not just in the credibility and coverage of regional and international events but also in facing up to the competition at the international level. We hope that the Arab Thought Foundation Media Forum will help in further reinforcing and strengthening the role of media in the future."
