The Dubai Courts issued a verdict yesterday sentencing a Pakistani man to one-year imprisonment to be followed by deportation, for embezzling an amount of Dh156,000 from the police undercover agent working for the anti-narcotic division.
The story unfolded when the convict convinced the cop that he had in his possession 3kg of heroin on sale. He offered to sell it for Dh156,000.
The credulous cop agreed for the deal, in the hope of nabbing a drug-peddler,
but the fraudster proved “smarter” than even the cop. He handed over to the cop a plastic bag full of ‘Sago’, small particles of Ammonia, at a hotel in Naif area. Before he gave the stuff, he made sure that the price was paid in full!
Soon after that, the police discovered what they got from the peddler was actually Ammonia! They immediately raided the premises of the suspect and arrested him with the marked money in his possession.
The cop had approached the suspect after the anti-narcotic division was tipped off that he had with him 10kg of heroin, which he was intending to sell for Dh650,000.
