Chavez invited to visit UAE
CARACAS - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez received the visiting UAE Foreign Minister Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the meeting, Shaikh Abdullah conveyed the greetings of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to the Venezuelan President wishing him good health and happiness and for the people further progress and prosperity.
Shaikh Abdullah extended an official invitation to the Venezuelan President to visit the UAE. He also expressed sincere condolences of the UAE Government and people to the families of those who died and those who have been displaced by the floods that swept Venezuela recently.
For his part, the Venezuelan President sent his greetings to President Shaikh Khalifa. They also discussed ways of cooperation in the economic field especially investment in petrochemicals, oil and gas sector, heavy industries and alternative energy, food production, agriculture, tourism, infrastructure and housing.
The delegation accompanying Shaikh Abdullah attended a workshop with their Venezuelan counterparts dealing with investment opportunities between the two sides.
