Dr Tayeb Kamali, Vice Chairman of CERT signed the MoU with Manoharan T.N., President of the ICAI at the CERT Abu Dhabi-based office.

“As per the instructions of Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, we moved to sign the MoU,” Dr Kamali said. For the reason of cooperation between the two sides, he told Khaleej Times, “We aim to face the high rates of shortage of the chartered accountants in UAE particularly from the nationals. So we set up this step that is considered the first initiative in the Middle East to establish an Indian institute for training accountants.” On the other hand, Manoharan T.N., President of the ICAI, said: “We welcome the cooperation with CERT and UAE to provide high level of accounting training programmes and international certificates such as CPA, CMA, CIA, CFA.””In our programmes the trainer does not need to provide two-year experience certificate or to travel to USA for doing exam for some certificates like CPA. Because of that the programmes period will be three years. So any accountant who holds the bachelor degree in accountancy can get the training and then can be an international chartered accountant,” Manoharan explained.
